    (verified owner):

There were three significant things I had to rework to make this box lock work. First there was interference with the bottom left mounting screw and the lock plunger bar (inside the box). I used a rat tail file chucked in my hand drill with the box lock secured in the vise and worked the lock plunger with my left hand pushing the plunger in and out of the lock, my right hand running the drill with the file in and out of the box lock hole hence filing away at the interference with the bar until the plunger would fully stroke and release smoothly. Second issue was the escutcheon for the exterior side of the door where the key must go through. It was too small for the key to go through, so since the shoulder on the key must remain in order for it to locate in the back side of the lock properly to turn the tumbler for the bolt, the diameter of the escutcheon had to be made larger, so I carefully filed this out so the key would fit in it. Lastly, one of the screws for the door jam catch missed the slotting process, so I had to file a slot in that screw. The extra things I had to do to make this box lock work would tend to make me look for a box lock elsewhere the next time. If I was not handy, I would have sent it back for a return on my money. The Quality Control in the place where this was made is lacking. But, after I spent a few extra hours to install this, it does look pretty nice and functions good now.
