To loosen, hold the knob furthest from you stationary while you twist the knob closest to you counterclockwise; if you hold the knob closest to you stationary, then turn the knob furthest from you clockwise, and keep turning until free. Each knob is 2.5 inches tall by 1.5 inches wide, and the set is 6 inches long. It is a new antique reproduction.
