Split Spindle for Privacy Door Latches

A split spindle is a two-piece door-handle spindle joined in the middle, allowing the inside and outside handles to operate independently. When the door closes, it automatically latches. The inside handle retracts the latch to exit, while the outside handle remains rigid and requires a key to open

Works with any of our Privacy latches 2 3/4″ and 2 3/8″.

Which should I buy?

Depending on the thickness of your door, you may want a shorter or longer split spindle. Please make sure to measure before purchasing!*

*We recommend buying a 4″ split spindle if purchasing either of our Glass Door Knobs.
