An estimate of buyer feedback on our eBay store over the years — not a live eBay count, and not an official eBay page or endorsement. We spell eBay in plain text only.
This page highlights product-specific comments eBay still displays; it is not the full 20,000+.
We're a family business, and we've been selling antique-style hardware and home décor since 1992. We've been selling on eBay since 1999, as well as on our own website, thekingsbay.com. People sometimes ask us if we're a real company — and we get it, it's hard to know who to trust online. We made this page to help show that we are, and that we've built a long, solid track record wherever we sell. The comments below were written by verified eBay buyers and originally posted on eBay. We show them here word for word, with the buyer's masked username and the time frame eBay gives, and we link each one to the matching product on thekingsbay.com where we still carry it. We've received 20,000+ reviews on eBay since 1999. This page covers only the product-specific comments eBay still displays, so it is not those 20,000+ reviews on this page, and these are not reviews left on thekingsbay.com. We've included the neutral and negative comments, exactly as they were written, because we want you to judge us not just on our positives, but on our negatives as well. We also left notes about how we handled each situation, when we were able to help the customer, since we always encourage reaching out if there is an issue. As a small family business, customer service is the biggest part of our jobs. We always want to help, in any way we can.

PositiveGreat communication, quick shipping, really nice quality hardware - works well for my old bathroom door without a lock! I probably could have gone with the 2” length, but the 4” looks nice too.

PositiveI am returning both toilet holders and victorian picture hangers. They were all mailed in the same box but the UPSP office only scanned the picture hangers because they said since both are going to same place. Now the toilet paper holders are not showing they have been mailed but they have with the picture hangers. Please let me know if this is a problem. Thank you
s***9 · More than a year · Verified eBay buyer – originally posted on eBay · eBay listing: Wall Mounted French Victorian Style Brass Toilet Paper Holder (#403643312970)
PositiveThe item is heavy and large. It was slightly discolored on the metal piece that holds the t.p., and it was slightly bent. Nothing that would make me return it. I'm sure the brass just naturally darkens like silver does without polishing. I would buy again from the seller. They shipped it quickly.

eBay listing (not a current thekingsbay.com product): Champagne Ice Bucket Wine Cooler Cast Aluminum - Taittinger Style
NegativeI feel this was totally deceptive advertising. I feel this was sold as a Taittinger product, but it was merely a Taittinger stamped item. Like an imitation made in China. I will donate this to charity as I would be ashamed to show it in front of guests. I won't keep it. Total loss of money on my part. Sad.

A note from The Kings Bay
We had text designating that this was a reproduction and not an original. However, we initiated a FULL refund anyways. We talked with the customer and made it clear we were not trying to deceive in any way, but still decided to let them keep the item and provided a full refund.

We are always happy to provide new screws if yours are damaged or un-usable. Please always feel free to reach out to us with issues like this. Customer service is a huge part of our small business, and we can make mistakes sometimes. But always strive to make things right, if you just reach out and ask! Not the customers fault in any way, just wish we could have helped. Still, we understand.

We made sure to contact this customer right away, and provided brand new hinges. We age these ourselves, by hand.. so sometimes we mess up! But we're always happy to help make things right.
NeutralItem was not what I expected, but that’s on me. I didn’t realize the size. They were way too small for my project. I did keep them in case I can use on another project.
c***0 · More than a year · Verified eBay buyer – originally posted on eBay · eBay listing: Vertical Cabinet Door Keyhole Escutcheon in Cast Brass[Highlighted Bronze] (#134803203199)
NeutralThe photos and the description are accurate. The problem is that when you try to bend the hinges, you mostly cannot. The hinge pins are bent and peened so close to the hinge point that they are basically nonfunctional I bought a different type from this seller and managed to fix the one that would not work, but this pair is not useable without work either. In all fairness, the seller offered to send another after the first problem. I fixed, sort of, the last hinge and declined the offer.
b***9 · More than a year · Verified eBay buyer – originally posted on eBay · eBay listing: Colonial Bean Strap Hinge in Wrought Iron Hardware 6 Inches (#146048515247)
NeutralThe screws to hold it in place are tiny, #6. Not appropriate for an 11 ft high barn door. I couldn't drill out the mounting holes because the mounting plate is too narrow.
4***m · More than a year · Verified eBay buyer – originally posted on eBay · eBay listing: 11 Inch Slide Dead Bolt Black Hand Wrought Iron Window or Door (#143767409208)
A note from The Kings Bay
Please keep in mind, we are always here for questions. If we had known this was going on such a large door, we likely would have suggested a different slide bolt.
NeutralThank you for a nice looking product. Some imperfections on manufacturing so not perfect.
